The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) held a three-day Policy and Economic Policy Analysis Programme for its public and economic policy team, from December 5 to December 7, 2018, to strengthen capacity to formulate, coordinate, implement and track policies for improved service delivery.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs Office, OSGF, Mr. Gabriel Aduda, there is a need to improve the capability to monitor the implementation of policies and advise the government accordingly. This can only happen when the team is sufficiently able to support. 

Module 1 of the programme focuses on:

• Understanding policy making in the public sector by Prof Ojowu
• Understanding the dynamics of the Nigerian Economic Policy making: Synopsis by Prof Ichoku and Prof Obadan
• The role of evidence in policy making by Dr Adeyemo
• Understanding research for policy making by Prof Habeeb-Yusuf
• Policy analysis and technical writing by Prof Ojowu / Prof Obadan
• What is Political Economy Analysis (PEA)? by Prof Aniagolu
